Welcome to HACIENDA "EL GALLINERO", this is a genuine, beautiful and unique Hacienda, built in the 17th Century, and located on a private, 45 acre nature reserve, in the very heart of Mexico. It's location, on the "OLD SILVER ROAD", "ROUTE OF THE OLD HACIENDAS", is between San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, close to both the Leon and the Queretaro airports.

However, when you arrive at EL GALLINERO, you will feel as though you have been transported back in time to the 17th Century...the Spanish Colonial period of Mexico's long history.

This authentic Hacienda,is a place of both, adventure and relaxation, of tranquil beauty and modern comfort. You will live part of the past, as you awaken to the sound "pat, pat, pat" the preparation of hand-made tortillas for your breakfast beside the pool. A glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, a plate of colorful and delicious tropical fruits, followed by Huevos Rancheros, or French toast with Mexican honey…and of course the superb Mexican coffee...all served by a Family that will allow you to feel the graceful and generous spirit of Colonial Mexico, which is alive to this day.

In our private Nature Reserve, you will view wildlife, and the many birds of central Mexico. A perfect setting for bird-watching, photography and painting, as well as hiking, and just strolling under the 300 year old trees, and feeling the lush beauty of the natural world.
Your stay at El Gallinero is by reservation only, as the Hacienda is not open to the general public. We can also plan and organize great events, such as; weddings, birthday parties, and other private events for your family and friends. El Gallinero is also an ideal location for workshops, and has been used as a film location.
